March=Spring

I am so glad that it is Springtime! The ONLY drawback is the allergies! March definitely began with new life this year. My dear friend, Danielle, had a beautiful, big (!) baby girl! Laura was born around 8:01 AM, March 5th, weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs and 5 oz. She is beautiful...and has stirred up quite a bit of conversation at my house about a "little sister"! I think my two boys have also been commissioned by their "CC" to convince me to have a "little sister"....as if it is a guarantee that a third child would be a baby girl! Anyway, that is all crazy talk if you ask me!

Karsen also had his soccer debut in early March. The rain has delayed almost every practice and every game. All he has ever heard is that you don't take things away from other people if they have them.....apparently he does not understand what "exceptions" are! Somehow, we have got to convince him that it is okay to take the soccer ball away from the opposing team members! Confusing to little ones to say the least!

We started Spring Break by going to the Children's Museum in Jackson on Tuesday. It was such a neat place. The kids had a blast, but everyone else in MS must have had the same idea because it was so crowded! We will have to go back when it is less crowded.

Karsen & Kooper liked the top level the best. It had forrestry equipment, a barn, tractors, racecars, and even a real car that they could jack up, fuel up, and play in.

This is an up close picture of Kooper before his day went Bad! Note how clear his forehead is.......

Soon after, I had to take Karsen to the bathroom. He and I ended up back at the forrestry exhibit..Then, I got a text from Mrs. Lea, who had Kooper. The text read: "Help lower level koopers hurt by kitchen" I immediately grab Karsen's hand and head that way. As I was coming down the stairs, I see her sitting on the bench holding Kooper with an ice bag over his forehead. Two museum employees were kneeled on the floor next to them. Apparently, he had fallen on one of the climbing exhibits. Lea and the worker head him screaming but could not see or get to him. Kaden and another random child picked Kooper up and brought him out to them. When I saw the knot on his head, my stomach cringed! Although I did not get to them until after the commotion and after he was worn out from screaming, Lea said people were gathered around looking at his head! They offered to call an ambulance, then when we refused, they followed us around checking on him until we left!

Then on Wednesday, I got the chance to visit with Danielle and these sweet faces! Luke was so sweet with Laura...and he liked checking her out. I love his picture of them.

Then, we all gathered at my parents' house Wednesday night to visit with family that I haven't seen in several years. Karsen, of course, got Gramps to let him shoot the gun!....Made his day....literally!

Oh....and Mom got a new pet this week. I am so not an animal person, but this thing is so awkward looking, it's cute. Meet Molly...

She feels like a rat, and you just hope that she doesn't get stepped on because it would crack every bone in her body. She looks like she has an awful color job...mixtures of black, gray, and reddish / brown???? Notice the nice variety of colors on Kooper's forehead? Watching these black, blue, green, and purple shades move and change every day has been interesting. It's beginning to trickle down into his eyes :(

We wrapped up our Spring Break weekend with a BANG! Karsen got Strep Throat/Scarlet Fever, so we had to postpone our weekend trip to Cajun Encounters http://www.cajunencounters.com/swamp_tour.html , a swamp tour in Slidell. Since Karsen is all about Swamp People these day, he is going to love it- when we are able to actually do it.
